Burrell falls short in D2 Championship game

Burrell varsity came heartbreakingly close to its first PIHL Division 2 title, falling to Ringgold 3–2 in overtime for the third time this season. The Bucs controlled much of the third period and OT, generating big chances—including a post and a glove‑save robbery—but Ringgold buried the winner with under three minutes left. Despite the loss, Burrell’s senior‑led group showed grit, growth, and resilience, capping a playoff run that included a shutout quarterfinal and an overtime semifinal win. The team’s effort, heart, and leadership defined their season, even if the championship slipped away.
